Note: documents for a society that ceases to exist by virtue of its amalgamation with other societies, or the transfer of its engagements to another society, remain on its original file. The documents are not moved. To see whether a society has transferred its engagements, or amalgamated with another society, search for a society and look at the ‘Details of recent transfers to the society’ panel.

How long does it take?
  1. We aim to provide you with electronic documents within 7 working days of receiving your order. However, during periods of high demand, this may take longer. You may wish to take this into consideration when deciding when to place your order.
  2. We aim to fulfil orders for paper photocopies within 20 working days.
  3. You can visit our office by appointment. Appointment slots are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, between either 9am and 12pm or 1pm and 4pm

How much does it cost?

  1. Electronic documents are £12 each.
  2. Paper copies are £27 for the first 20 sheets, plus 60p per page thereafter, plus £5 post and packaging.
  3. Viewing the file at our office costs £26.50 per society searched.

How do I pay?

  • Online with a debit or credit card for electronic copies. We’ll email you with a link to the document once it is available
  • By card over the phone. We will phone you to take payment once you have submitted this order
  • By cheque made out to the ‘Financial Conduct Authority’ and sent to: Mutual Societies, Financial Conduct Authority, 12 Endeavour Square, London, E20 1JN

Other services:

  • Document certification: we can certify documents as a true copy for £15.
  • Society lists: we can provide electronic lists of societies for £12 per list. This list includes the society name, registration number, and registered office address.
